Hypothetical question- how much would the D2 S8's be worth to a dealer for trade-in value toward
another car? Does anyone know? With all the deals out there, it's very tempting to at least *think* about doing something!

if it is in decent shape how could they comw even close to private sale prices, specially pearl, i have been looking for a perfect pearl for a while...whaddayagot?

i took my pearl white S8 a year ago with 74k miles that needed a windshield, but otherwise near perfect in and was offered $14.5k
it has 77k now and is for sale btw, going to advertise it for 20k.

Man you guys are brutal to yourselves. I have a black on black S8 loaded with 80k and have had a guy offer me 16k for it last week. Nothing special about the car really, cheap rims, factory stereo etc. I think if you are selling for 13, you are selling yourself short. I have to go to a dealership tommorow for a part, I'll grab a salesg y and pretend to be really interested in a new S8 and see what they will give me for the old S8. I would say a fair markup is at least 2 grand from what a dealer offers.
The key is to find the right person. Ebay helps braoden your scope. If you have the right color and the right features and the right sales pitch. I see no reason why he cant ask for 20 and get 18.

We were initially offered....
....$12k by the local Honda dealer and that was 6 months ago and our '02 is Effin' nice with pretty low miles. When I (nicely) told them they were crazy to even think about offering me $12k, they came back at me with $15k after they "made some calls". Needless to say, we still have the car.
