How much damage can you do to a car when you reverse battery?
Friend of mine had an '88 BMW 528e's battery replaced and they put it in backwards. After the smoke cleared, they took it out and replaced it with another battery. After the smoke cleared again (and they say lightning doesn't strike twice) they paid for a taxi and rental while they fix it. Just wondering, besides the alternator, what else could be damaged?

You will need to replace a lot of fuses.
And if the radio is not working you will need to remove it and replace the fuse behind it .
The above for the AUDI.
For Bmw I don't know

I have seen cases where the ecm and abs modules have been damaged as well...hope you don't find this to be the case.
