Default Good bye my friends :-(

Well all, the time came to move on and as of yesterday I am no longer an A8 owner. Thank you to all that helped me with her over the past 3 years. Your information was most valuable and I really appreciate all the help. I will still lurk from time to time. Take care and have a wonderful, happy, and hunt/thump free holiday and new year!

Andy.

Default Good Luck... i know the A8 was a hughly expensive & painful ordeal for you...

hopefully your next "baby" will treat you well/better.

curious, what was your total cost anywayz with the A8...probably more than what u paid for her.

take care and stay warm out there... looks like it's gonna be a rough/cold winter

Default Thanks guys. As for Roughyear's question....

I paid $8K for the car 3.5yrs ago I believe. Since that time I have put in well over $10K in repairs into it and countless hours of restless sleep pondering my random creaks, thumps, rattles, vibrations, etc. and sore fingers from all my posts here on the board. Your insight has been more than priceless and probably saved me another $5k easy! After my last incident with my cam seals and that damned plate that cracked on my motor, I decided to move on. After that was finally fixed up (I was without the car for damn near a month trying to get that fixed!) She was finally running well and I could justify selling it with a clean conscience knowing that I did my best with the car so I chose to get out of the relationship. I sold it for $4300.

skiracer1313 and all - Rest assured I moved on to another VAG car but something a little more manageable (fingers crossed) - A 99 VW Passat - KEEP YOUR COMMMENTS TO YOUR SELVES... ;-) Thanks again for all your help and I will keep a watchful, curious eye on this forum...i mean, cmon, this forum is an addiction...just because you are clean, doesn't mean you are cured! HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL. VAG FOR LIFE!
