Default Re:True, but condition and color scheme a BIG factor on these

I have seen a number of S8's for sale in person. Cars fall into three main categories.

1) Wrong color combination ie Green and Tan for an S8(sorry if somone has this).
2) Car wrecked, dented, leather worn etc, no CPO lots of these for 20K and under from non Audi dealers.
3) Right color combo, right condition, right warranty.

Bring all of number three to the dance, and my guess there is a 6-7K swing between them.

Wholesale prices will bear this out. Also, I confirmed with my Audi dealer on the trade. First question from the dealer, "what is the color combo, please tell me it is black on black".

What is so wierd is that this is a very limited prodcution car, that has so much to offer over the standard A8. The S8 takes is even worse than the E39M5. Which is another sad story.

Kind of has me re-thinking the value proposition. Maybe I keep the S8 as the beater car and sell the old SAAB.

Default Found it ... beav

Here's the Link. Anyone interested might want to drop him an email and see if he's interested in having more made (or supplying the CAD drawing for use at emachineshop.com)

Just querious, looks neat.

And unrelated, I could swear my center console "side panels" are carpeted not leather on me '01. Hmmmm. Hafta go out and looky. I've only seen '01s and '03s so maybe another difference year to year? Or I'm just an idiot (likely)...

Default Ah ha, thanks. Ummm... I ASSume it forgoes the "shift lock" button then??? Weird.

Never seen a **** as such for a ****omatic application. But what do I know.

His appears to be leather - just say NO to metal shifters!!! Eeeegads hot / cold.

Fortunately the chrome one in my TR3 doesn't swelter me hand - I think all the engine heat is transmitted into my right leg before it reaches the ****...

Default How do you get by with a European front plate in VA?

My old plate got ripped off a few months back and I have never replaced it (at this point) but I am getting sick of seeing the "hole" in the front bumber where the insert is supposed to go.

If you can get it approved to have a non-VA plate in there, that would be pretty cool.

Thanks.

PS: with the brake block - what is needed to install that thing? Does it just wedge in or does it get bolted?

Default color scheme could've just been your dealer having someone who wanted black/black

because autotrader.com and the like prices are basically spot on with miles being the biggest factor with the '01s going for a little less. CPO is the only thing that seems to add value, which I've seen a few of those in the $27-29k range. I can't believe there are still cars in the $35k range. and that one guy with his at $50k, but it still doesn't have 10k miles on it yet.

Are they easy to use?
