These are them:

Their info is wrong though; these only came on 2003 S8.

Did a little more digging, including a few '03 S8 owners, and it turns out that '03 US model S8's with the "Limited Edition Package" got the RS4 9-spoke 18x8" wheels. Euro owners said the 20x9" 9-spoke were available on the final edition D2 S8's there.

All sources seem to say that no 20" wheel was available as a factory option in the US until the '06 W12 A8 and then on all A8's from '07 on.

That makes more sense as couldn't find a single set for sale when I decided on Audi OEM 20" wheels. I knew I wanted 20", and I knew I wanted something that an S8 (D2 or D3) actually wore from the factory. So, I went with the 2007 split 7-spoke variant.

Thanks for digging deeper. I think we read "originally came on car" as "OEM original." Now I wonder what's actually on his car.

My 20's say hello:

You are right. And promess I will take pictures today. They are original Audi rims for 2011 A8L. Just got the car with executive package but I don't like the comfort level with this tires.
I will take pics today and post them

Agreed about comfort level of 20" rims, not to mention screaming for easy damage. Car & Driver destroyed 7 tires and 3 rims in less than 30K miles during their long term test of a 2007 S8 w/20" rims (Michigan roads). Personally, I found that 18" is the absolute limit on a D2 A8, for comfort/handling balance.

Are these the wheels in the photo below? Many (including myself) aren't too wild about the design, looking a little too much like daisies...maybe more well suited to a new Beetle.

Sorry, to each their own

They truly look like flowers to me...one of my least favorite of all Audi wheels.

The D3 body looks best with 5 spoke wheels, while the D2 seems to look best with the BBS race wheel style, or a solid wheel with air vents.

I choose 20's for the better deal on tires v/s 19's. And the rims and prices as well. When I buy my next set of wheels and tires, they will be 19's, as I think that's the best commpromise between function and style, especially on the D2 body. And they will be multi-spoke, BBS varients.

Again, to each their own. My favorite rims on a D2 are factory "Fat-Fives"...absolutely hate "Pie Plates" (solid with little vents, which look like Lexus/Lincoln wheels).
Also have never been a fan of ANYTHING BBS...IMHO way too busy and only look appropriate on Beemers. BBS on an Audi looks like a "confused" and inappropriate mix of ideas.
