Default Closing the hatch from the inside

Im too lazy to look into this (but not lazy enough to write this post), but is it normal to NOT be able to close the hatch from the inside?? Long press on the door button doesn’t do it.

Do I really need to always get out and physically press the button on the hatch to make it close?? It’s not bothering me until now with all this rain 😂

Not certain if the OP's issue was solely limited to the fob, but the door latch works perfectly. Just tried it minutes ago...

Engine on, gear in Park, foot on the brake (I didn't bother to try with my foot off, but I can/will if I must...)
Long hold the latch in door pocket (not the fob)
No problemo...

Doc, agree, worked for me as well. Also, with the engine/ignition off, using the key fob, press X2 on trunk/hatch button twice, it opens. Long press of the same button, it closes just fine. In your manual under page 41, it explains everything.... attached is the page.

It works for sure, but it's very fickle. Car has to be in park, has to be clear behind the car and i believe the other doors need to be closed as well...i can confirm later on tonight.

OK I got it figured out:

1. Auto is off: can open hatch but can’t close
2. Auto is on (engine d/c if on or off): can open and close hatch. Requires you to hold the hatch until it’s closed

annoying that can’t close for #1, but oh well.
