Default A7 December U.S. sales and year end numbers

Audi had a great month, topping 15,000 sales for the first time. The A6 was up stronger for the month, and a whopping 43.3% for the year. The Q7 also had big gains.

A7 gains were very modest. 944 sales in Dec. compared to 926 for the same month a year ago. For all of 2013, 8483 A7s were sold compared to 8,598 the year before.

Thus, A7 sales were up 1.9% in Dec. but down 1.3% for the year.

Here are details for all Audi's. Also worth noting, A8 sales were down 20.2% in Dec. but up 5% for the year.

The new S class is going to take A8 sales. Also, I wonder if anyone has studied Tesla sales - what premium luxury car didn't each Tesla owner buy, because they bought a Tesla.

Looks like Tesla Model S (4 door sedan) will hit 20k unit sales for 2013.

I won't get into the debate about the Tesla - but suffice to say, 20K units in that price range is alot - those sales almost all have to come out of S Class/7 series/A8 sales, that those buyers would otherwise have gone for.

Agreed, I'm shocked at how well this vehicle has sold given the price and limited functional range. Everyone who drives one is blown away by the instant and powerful acceleration.

Do you know the sales numbers for the BMW Gran Coupe in the Mercedes-Benz CLS class?

Not so much interested in the year-to-year sales but just the total 2013 sales for each of the three cars...

CLS #189
A7 #187

The CLS would sell more if it had a 6 cylinder option - I know that's why I ruled it out in my search, don't want a V8 as a daily driver.

I ruled it out for the same reason. In Europe they do offer a six cyl. version. Even so, I thought the Audi ride was smoother and more refined.
