I had mine gone out and fixed by the dealer. They replaced a portion of a wiring harness and one of the sills.

One of them has gone halfway out on mine, was replaced by the dealer under warranty. There was no hooking up to the computer.

Thanks for the heads up. My less than 6 month old A7 has the same issue on the front passenger side. This certainly seems like more than an isolated issue. Will ask if they have upgraded the wiring harness or improved the reliability of the parts in question. If they have, I am going to ask them to replace all sill lights.

Funny thing my dealer said they have never seen those things gone wrong before.

Well, I would not have even checked had I not read this thread. My wife probably didn't even know the sill was supposed to be lighted.

Didn't everyone who read this thread run out to see if their sill lights worked? ...I know I did. Mine are still shining bright.

The door sills are at the bottom of the door opening. Some are illuminated when they are working.

I have half the front passenger sill light and the full rear passenger sill is out. I'm at 13k so I'll wait for it's 15k service.

Well at least it was a heads up for some, because after reading some posts this is a more recurrent thing than we thought
