Total satisfaction with my TDI. My 1st audi was S5 then a 2012 A7 before my 2014 Havana Black. I have driven from NYC to Detroit...Toronto...DC...Boston...etc. Sometimes alone and other times with co-workers (and they loved driving the car). My avg. mileage was between 35 to 41 mpg. In the city mpg is around 26.

The combination of beauty, power, mileage, comfort can't be beat.

+1

And I'd add two more: driving range and utility.

Absolute total satisfaction with our 2014 A6 TDI. I would not buy anything else. It's super fast, quite, refined and gets close to 40 MPG on the highway with a city/highway average of 32. I could not be happier with a car.

We drove a supercharged and tdi back to back and ordered a tdi. We also considered an s7. However, the diesel and 8 speed auto perfectly fits the car. Torque is always there and is super smooth. We couldn't be happier. It's our second tdi after a q7 tdi...the diesel is even better in the sedan. The a7 is supposed to be buttoned downed, so moving towards an s7 with twin turbos and a dual clutch didn't make sense. I like high strung cars but they have 2 seats and 2 doors and are old school manuals.

From driveway in Phoenix Arizona to Hyatt Resort in Huntington Beach California: 40.5MPG! Calculated at the gas station 4 days later and it was over 39MPG including some additional city driving.

This with tons of power to spare and absolute blissful driving (when the kids were sleeping) I will never regret this purchase.

Super quiet, plenty fast and drives like a dream while getting better mileage than my kid's Honda Civic. What's not to love?

Similar here... Weekend trip to catch Art Bergmann concert where we did PDX-YVR-PDX on one tank including city driving and border crossing queue. Hand calculated trip average was 37 mpg and computer showed 43 mpg while on I5.

One highlight was forming an impromptu convoy with a white S7 north of Seattle that stayed with us for quite some time until pulling off at Lewis-McChord. These cars look way cool.

Just replaced my 2012 A7 TFSI with a 2015 A7 TDI. After 10 days and 2200 km I find it wonderful. Great mileage, lots of power, quiet ride.

I have very similar experience. Recently after 2+h of driving some at 45 and some at 75 (average of 62 mph for 140 miles) the indicated mpg was 41.1.

If you are in an urban or city environment and want to change the dynamics try driving it in S mode. It keeps the RPMs around 2k (the peak of the torque band) and every time you step on it you get the 428 ft-lbs of torque. The instant acceleration is simply amazing! Try it!
