Default Self-driving A7

Saw this clip today on CNN. This car does not appear to have needles for the RPM and MPH indicators, looks like an all digital instrument cluster.

Seems like the future gauges will be digital, I personally like old school needles and digital in the center just like it is right now.

Impressive technology.

The perfect car for the driver who needs to text at all times.

i understand the desire to retain the old school cluster,
but frankly there is so much info coming onboard that devoting
the big round gauge space to speedo and tach seems inefficient.
i could see digital speed output and a small tach gauge in upper center, and more telematics functions in 'gauge' space,
all controlled at the steering wheel, and all should be more
easily reconfigured. i would like to reduce or eliminate the mmi billboard in the center console. i'd love to mess around with a blank totally configurable layout. just random thoughts.

The interior of the next TT was shown at the CES show in Las Vegas this week, it also had the digital dash, looked very impressive. I would put money on them including a version in the A7 update due later this year. The shape of the inside dash binnacle shown above is almost identical to the one in the TT. I wonder if the MMI will come with the Android system also launched at CES this week?
