Default pricing question

I am very close to buying my first audi. A local dealer has a 2014 left that he will sell for invoice and has included audicare. I would prefer a diesel if the prices were equal but one isn't available. As a result I would be buying a 2015 tdi which dealers have been reluctant to come off msrp. So I guess my question is - is the price on the 2014 a great deal? If so, I may consider going that route and foregoing the tdi. Thanks.

You should be well under invoice for a leftover. Typically manufacturers give extra incentives to dealers for leftovers. Being a 2014 it has already depreciated 2-3K just on the 2014 year.

When I ordered my 2014, I was able to negotiate $1,000 under, a rare deal but you can see that invoice plus $800 audicare value isn't great for a leftover. If they'll go another 1K under, I might go for it.

The dealer pays for Audicare, its not free to them. it can be used at any US dealer and by any subsequent owner. So, $1k under invoice and Audicare is actually almost $2k under. No sure about added incentives for left overs, but new current MY A7s and A6s have at least $1.5k in hold backs. While a 2014 is technically a year old, i have never seen a dealer moved by that reasoning. They are only moved by what they need for sales at the end of the month, what they have on hand and competition. My dealer sold me an like new A7 14 loaner CPO at a stupidly low price because: last day of month, new A7s in and two new 14s still on lot, plus car had been for sale for 133 days. A perfect storm for blow out car.

I bet the car you are looking at will be cheaper at thanksgiving. EOM + holiday
