Default Outside Temp display

I have a 2014 A7 and today my outside temperature reading on the dash read 63 degree's and it was only 30 degree's out. Any one else had this happen?

What are you doing out on a day like that?

Actually I would have been out my own self except for the thought of following a bunch on FWD cars on balding A/S tires... We rescheduled two appointments in Rochester since it took two hours to get anywhere. I have a new set of snows and today was the first real accumulation I've seen all season. Would have liked to toss it around a little to see how the car sticks.

No problems with my temperature reading. You're the first that I have heard of. Time for a visit to the dealer.

For what it's worth - the external temperature sensor is behind the rings on the A7 front grill.

Tenspeed, Thank you for the info on the location of the sensor. I wonder if its an electronic issue that may also be affecting the lose of some of my preset xm stations but I find it hard to believe.

My best guess is a dirty connection on the sensor since it's out in the elements. It's probably a RTD (resistance temperature detector) and a dirty connector would add more resistance to the circuit. If you're handy, unplug and plug in a couple of times.

It shouldn't have anything to do with the radio presets but there is a lot of interconnectivity and it might.

I took the car in today and they replaced the sensor unit.
