Most people would agree with that, but I'm not sure I understand the OP's point about expecting to be targeted in an A7. I've only had mine for a few weeks now, and I love the look. But it's not a Corvette or a Ferrari. I agree that it's easy to go over the speed limit without recognizing it - given the car's power mated with a smooth ride - but I don't think the police see an A7 and immediately associate it with speed.

Just my two cents...your cops may vary.

cheers

Default radar detector

Any one here try an escort with their new escort service? It lets you connect your phone (wirelessly) to the radar detector and then it also talks up to a central database that logs any other radar hits or cop spottings by other escort (escort live actually is the service name) users.

Getting pretty interesting as more and more people buy it and start using it, there's someone that does the same commute as me but about 10 minutes earlier than me, I always get his "cop 5400 feet ahead" warnings.

Thats sounds pretty sweet.
How do you guys hook up your radar detector without making the car look trashy (wires running to the power outlet, etc)? I can hear my wife complaining about that already. (:

I got a kit from this site. Everything you need for under $20. Tell them tenspeed sent you.

Thanks guys.
Which kit did you use Tenspeed? The stealth mirror one?
Will those suction cups hold up in the event of a crash?

For a minute I thought you were going a totally different direction with this thread (Calling Eliot Spitzer!)

The A7 does have a setting where you get an alarm when you cross a specific speed. I set this to 80 since when I am on the freeway I can go past 80 to 90 even and not feel it in the slightest. The car is so comfortable at high speed its really a problem.

Since I have set that limiter, I get alerts quite often still, but back off. This is after having the car almost 6 months - I still haven't gotten used the smoothness at speed.

V1 with the Savvy piece - plugs into the OBD port. Works great.
