Best 20" Summer Tire for A7?
Hi all,
I've come to 19K miles on my 2012 Audi A7, and the Yokohamas need replacing. I have been trying to get Michelin Pilot Super Sport 265/35/20, but the manufacture of them has been constantly put on hold (they told me 5 weeks, now they say 4 more weeks), apparently not many people purchase the PSS in that size (understandably) and my patience is running out. Any alternative tire to the Michelin? I want to avoid the Yokohama as their tread life sucks, and their performance capability is overshadowed by too many shortcomings (tread life, wet performance, road noise). I don't want any of those extreme performance tires, just a standard one (Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, Dunlop, Yokohama, one of these main brands not the smaller ones). I can only think of the Pirelli P-Zero Rosso as a good replacement, but making sure I'm not missing out on anything else. Thank you!

Not sure it's quite that extreme a no-brainer, but the folks at Tire Rack would seem to agree. Same with C&D and others; it's the consistency of the #1 ranking that is imprtessive. Personally, I have been quite happy with the P Zero on my 7, and with only 7800 miles, I am in no rush to replace, but when I do, in the absence of new contenders, the MPSS will be the choice.
