The Macan is too small. I am cross shopping the A7 and the Range Rover Sport, but still leaning A7.

I just happen to own a 2012 Range Rover Sport HSE and I just purchased an A7 Prestige Package. The Range Rover Sport and A7 are 2 completely different vehicles (obviously). I love them both and if I had to to give one of them up, I'm not sure which one I would give up. I don't have any complaints just yet with my A7 but the one complaint I have with my RRS is the lack of room in the vehicle overall. The new models (2014) have a little more room but from what I've seen thus far it isn't much of an improvement.

Let me know if you have any specific questions on either.

That's actually what I am afraid of might happen. One charm of A7 is how rare they are at least in Seattle area, compare to say 5 series, E class and Tesla.

In any case I have to test drive both cars before deciding on Macan S or A7. Both cars appear to have enough cargo spaces. Some reviews mentioned about not much room in rear seats on A7 but since I won't sit in the rear, that is not an issue.

As you almost certainly know, the A7 is now standard with 3 rear seats (think they made a boneheaded move in 2011 by not making it available). Anyway, I've been using the rear seat more and more lately. I have two booster seats for my 5 and 7 year old and my 9 year old sits in the middle. 9 year old hates it, but think that is because his little brothers try to rest their heads on his shoulder on long trips...

We've not had 3 adults back there yet, but imagine that rear seat would get awfully cramped at that point

Yup - a newer A7 is also one of the options I'm considering. They are doing a refresh for 2015, so we'll see what that brings. We also have an SUV in the garage (my wife drives an MB ML350 BlueTEC) and I'm not a huge fan of SUV's - so I'm leaning towards the A7 over the Macan. However, I'd be interested to test drive both. I've also considered the S6 & A8 (since the S7 only has 2 back seats) but haven't test driven either.
