I just bit the bullet and bought my own HEX-USB+CAN rosstech cable. so if anyone in the northern virginia area needs some mods let me know. here's what i've gotten to work so far
-Windows and sunroof open and close with remote
-double disarm beep
-close trunk with remote one click
-Vehicle in motion video
-disable phone warning in motion
-show gear selection in automatic D and S modes
-adaptive brake lights in emergency braking
-disable led wink on turn signals
-gauge test needle sweep
it seems most of the B8 mods works for the most part.

I have done on mine: video in motion, close trunk with remote, needle sweep and windows open and close with remote.

here's how to get the DIS to show D1,d2, etc and s1 s2 etc.
02- Auto trans Adaptation - 10 and from the drop down menu select single gear display and then select "D on/S on"
enable trunk close with one click
46- central convenience coding - 07 -> Long Coding Helper Byte 2
and select enable trunk close one click

I tried the above two commands on my UK A7, but they didn't work. I followed the instructions and the changes didn't make any difference.
Does anyone know if there are alternatives, or anything I may be doing wrong?

I have looked in my 2012 menu to enable the trunk close, however, it would appear that in the 46 menu under coding - I do not have the option to select/unselect the necessary byte-bit. Is it possible you can provide me some assistance in locating the necessary settings.

Yes, I'm refering to the power trunk. I am able to open it with the keyfob, just didn't see the menu option as above to close the trunk. I've heard the early 2012's are a little different then some of the later 2012's
