A7 AC condenser fan does ramp up above 67%
Hello Audi fans,
There's a problem with my AC and I can't figure out what's wrong.
The condenser fan (8K0959455Q) is supposed to modulate the speed to maintain the pressure or the temp of refrigerant (not sure which one) on the high-pressure side. I live in Dubai, where not having an AC can pretty much cause your death
This summer, when the outside temperature goes above 36-38 degC it starts to give me some trouble. The condenser fan does not go above 67% of speed (ran the Output tests on VCDS to confirm) which causes high pressure in the condenser and the AC starts to blow lukewarm to warm air when idle. In the measured values I can see the AC requesting 97-98%, but the fan is maxed out at 67%. Once I start driving and hit 60-80kmh, the fan ramps down gradually as it probably hits the setpoint pressure/temp and AC is blowing crispy cold air. So the compressor, EXV, and evaporators are fine, the gas charge is OK too.
So far I replaced the fan control module and the condenser fan. All the fuses are fine, including the hidden one under the hood mentioned in this thread: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...-fuses-221917/ In this thread they have two, but mine has only one
Any thoughts or ideas what to look for next? It's hitting 45+ degC outside and I don't want to blow up my compressor in the middle of the road Thanks in advance.

It sounds like there is a fan speed control module somewhere.
Have you tried checking to see what voltage the fan motor is receiving?
Something like this?

This is the one I already replaced. And the fan is brand new. I will have to check the voltage.
It almost feels like it is limited by software, not hardware as 67% is exactly 2/3 of the full range. Maybe there's a way to reset the ECU?
