2016 A7 Order Status
Has anyone had their order move to 'Build' status yet? Mine is still sitting in 'Ordered' but I was curious if they've even started production yet. Thanks.

I talked to my dealer this past week and from what they said there are 2016 C7 A6/A7 cars in the USA (I think he said New Orleans) ready to be shipped to dealers. He said they will be shipped either the 2nd or 3rd week of March. So if he is correct then yes they have started production of the 2016's. When I ordered my B8 it took Audi a little over a month before the order status even changed.

I just dug through some old posts from 2010 and found the different stages Audi used to use when ordering a car. Since I have not done this in 5 years it might have changed...but here is what the different stages used to be and what they meant. Hope this helps.
"Factory order bank" means it is "in the system" and banked - or queue'd up for processing.
The next major date you will get is a "Week requested Production" which will be the projected week it will begin being built - this week requested is not always the week it happens, mine was projected on week, and actually built the following.
Further milestones will be "Actual week of production," you will then get a VIN, then a "Factory Inspected" date. After that things happen fast, as it loads on a rail car for transit to port, and futher dates like "Date at port," "Ship Loaded," "Date arrival at destination port."
We used to have a guy on the B8 form at A-zine who would look up commission numbers for us and give us status updates. The guys was invaluable for anyone who had a car on order. He seemed to have better info than the dealers were willing to provide...plus you didn't have to hassle your sales guy/gal each week. Maybe someone will show up here...I'm placing an order for a 2016 A7 next week.

Mine went into production last weekend. The dealer warned me that 2016 models went into production about 3 weeks before then, but that individual orders were not prioritized over general vehicles built for dealer distribution, so I should expect to see 2016's on the lots before my build actually arrives...
