Well at the site it specifies for the A4,S4 and A6 for models,the headlight assemblies onall three cars are similar, there may slight differences.

are you sure the one he gave you was the original you have?
or he had it sitting in the back of his garage already taken out and swap it out for you? kind of wondering how the yellow plastic can come out in ONE piece.
