I thought the 4.2 had much lower rear end ratio than a 2.7t. I figure that 160 mph would come at about 6200 on my 2.7t which works out to a very slight difference in the final drive ratio. Maybe the 6 speed 2.7t has lower than 1:1 (overdrive) 6th gear while the S6/A6 in 5th are 1:1 or more. Does anyone know the rear end ratio of a 6 speed 2.7t and the ratio of 6th gear vs. the rear end ratio and of 5th on an A6 4.2. It sounds like, at least the S6, has a final engine to wheel ratio that is very close to the 2.7t.
