was being a pain so I unhooked the line at the cooler (way down low). Cranked the engine a bit, let it drain for a while & refilled. It whined twice that I remember, on two startups some time apart, but has been fine since.

Fluid was in there for 165k that I know of with no problems. I sold the Passat and I performed most of what the dealer recommended so the buyer had piece of mind.

Dealer may have done it before we owned the car. We got it with 45k on it.
