I am in the market for an '99-'04 A6 Avant
and was wondering apart from the change to
the 3.0 liter if there are any signiificant
year-year changes/improvements?

Also are there any common problem areas? I
decided not to look at Allroads because of the
leaking oil seal in the torque converter and
the leaking air springs, not to mention leaking turbos.

I know Audi had problems with carbon build up on engines and crankcase breather issues when they extended the service period. Are the A6 engines affected?

Are the drive trains reliable?

I own several other Audi but all from the '80s...
