I just bought a 2000 Black on Black A6 4.2. It's just what I've wanted an I finally found one worth buying. It was owned by an assistant parts manager at my local dealership (only had factory parts and factory "love" for the past 3 years). It has the factory sport sway bar's, sport shocks, Giac chip (very fast!), and a IPG (I think) drop in filter. I just need to ask a couple of questions about some upgrades / additions.
I was wanting to add a phatnoise to this so that I don't have to replace the entire stereo. The previous owner didn't think that there was the changer wiring in the trunk of the 4.2. He thought that is was behind the glove box. I quickly looked in the trunk compartment and didn't see the obvious changer wire like I have in my 98 2.8. Is it just hidden, or did it not come on the 4.2?
I'm also wondering about wheel sizes on this. Would my 16" rims fit over these bigger calipers? I have a set on newer snow tire' that I would like to use next fall, but they are on the smaller 16" rims. Any help would be appreciated.
Is there anything else that I should be looking at doing to this car. It's in really nice shape. I'm going to get the windows tinted, and might look into a M3 style spoiler. Any help or opinions on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for all the advise over the years.
