I bought my car because it represented, IMO, a better value than the other cars I considered. I did my homework on the web, determined what I was willing to pay, then went and got that deal at my local dealer. When I walked into A-B I asked for the best Audi sales guy they had. Got an experienced fellow who understood the vehicle and especially the 4.2 Sport, and the buyer of that type of vehicle. Treated me well. I negotiated only till I got my price which took only two go-rounds. Nothing condescending. The entire process took 35 minutes for the actual order and agreement. My first visit to a different dealer further away was about 1 hour, included a test drive, and they shoveled me off from the senior guy with whom I had the appointment to a junior guy just up from a Mercury (!) dealer. Didn't go running back to them, and further postings on the board here reinforced that. I shopped for a fair deal, not looking to squeeze anyone. I am in sales managment and I really appreciate dealing with a experienced top-end sales person, the same type that I try to hire when building a sales team myself. That's worth a lot to me, along with a good deal and an excellent service department. I've found that they usually go together. I got my bang for the buck, and a fair deal, and the dealership got a good customer and a fair profit.
