Default Fuel Sender Replacement...anyone see a change in accuracy?

10K service and fuel sender replacement is coming up soon. I want to have my fuel computer reset (MPG is 10% off real) but I wonder if its pointless until I see if the new sender unit affects it.

Default I saw no change in accuracy...overall computer is ~10% optimistic

Actually, it is very accurate, it is just off in its calibration. It is very consistent in its "error", then again of course there is the variable amount of fuel someone puts in their tank and the variable of when the gas pump cut-off occurs.
I don't think the "sender" is related to the MPG computer. Don't know where the computer gets its info. I suspect the gas gauge and mpg computer get their info from different sources.

Default The dealer can adjust it, or you can do it with VAG-COM.

Instrument Cluster, adaptation channel #3, default is 100. You can change it in steps of 5 (about 5%). If yours is 10% optimistic, I'd try 110, and change it to 105 if it was now pessimistic. I'm running mine at 105 right now and it has been optimistic by .2 to .3 mpg to pessimistic by .1 mpg depending on how much gas goes into the tank. The auto shutoff varies from pump to pump and station to station and I fill to the nearest $0.25 being an ****-retentive engineer.

Default Thanks, I like to pretend I get better gas mileage than I do, though...

I actually may change it eventually, but 18.5 looks better than 17.0 so I leave it alone.

Thanks for the info. Mileage adjustment was one of my very low-priority to-do items.

Then adjust that channel to 75 or so and see really great mileage!
