911RS6

Well I've been compiling a number of goodies since last fall. On January 30th, in an effort to avoid someone hitting me, I hit someone else. So, with the front end in need of repair (no frame damage) and insurance footing the bill(Ok, I picked up the tab for the skirts and rear valance)....why not get the stuff installed now? Well I did, and this is the finished product.

I already had the H&R's and H-Sports on the car...but was going to wait til spring to install the body components.

So I picked it up on Friday...and immediately went home to get the wheels (Victor Equipment 5X130 20x8.5 ET45 &amp; 255/30-20 ET50 and 20x10 285/25-20) and wrenches to raise the car. I used H&amp;R 25mm spacer/adapters to give me final offsets of 20 in the front and 25 in the rear. After 4 hours of raising and checking clearances ...VOILA! Just as I expected.

I drove it home Friday night and back into the office on Saturday a.m., giving it a chance to settle and see if there would be rubbing. So Saturday, I had to raise the right rear. Afterwards, I put 2 co-workers in the car...it barely rubbed in the rear over a huge dip...but I will remedy that with new rear spacer/adapters 20mm vs 25mm, which will pull them back in a touch...thus making them perfect and an ET30. Currently, they would meet the German TUV approval because the tread is under the fender. But, I prefer the edge of the rim to be flush with, or just a hair inside the fender. Pulling them back in won't be a problem, since I easily have another 1.5 inches available. As for the front, they were perfect.

Now with the car sitting correctly...Next, I installed my Brembo 380mm Porsche GT2 Long Distance Brakes(powder-coated ORANGE) and SS lines for the rear. The pedal feel is "ridiculous". It's actually better than my Porsche with the PCCB's. I only wish I'd be in town this week to "bed" them in, but I have to go to Cali for work.

With the aerodynamics, wheels, suspension and brakes in place...I will now concentrate on finishing/completing the car. My highest priority has to be getting my S/E RS6 exhaust installed. I can't stand the horrible look of the tips sticking out so far with the "shortened" (euro) bumper cover. I've read so many posts about the great sound of the exhaust, so I bought in. But, aesthetically, I think I'll lose the black oval tips and replace them with dual S/S rounds to fill the valance.

In the coming weeks, still to install:

RS6 S/E exhaust
Bilstein PSS9's, whenever that group buy goes through (I want a little more control over the dampening)
RNS-E Navi, Ipod, SAT and Bluetooth. Between Lee (NSX Jr) and Teddy B. who'll be working on my custom harness over the next few weeks.
Euro headlights, with city lights and clear corners ( I know some of you wondered why I left the amber reflector in the NEW ones ;-) They'll be for sale soon!

JL Audio Subwoofer upgrade


Needless to say, with all of the new components installed or on the way to being installed...I'll be loading up the classifieds in the coming weeks. (DanMcboost has already spoken for the H&amp;R coilovers).

Finally, It was this car, a silver S6 who did this conversion with a set of BBS LM's that convinced me that this would be a cool project to take on. I wasn't sure that he had actually done the Euro rear bumper/valance though. Since, there was no chance of getting the real deal, I figured I'd go with at least the look for now, De-badge it and explore the supercharger route to get the performance on par with that of the RS6. Also, I know that some enthusiasts prefer the OEM, Plus 1 or Plus2 wheel mod. As for me, I've always pushed the envelope...and I'm not a fan of seeing myself "coming and going". So I wanted to build a car that would be unique. Coupled with the fact that I drive 40 minutes, ALL HIGHWAY, to and from work; I love the look and, for me, the 20's work fine. "Staggered w/ Quattro"...the rolling radius is the same as stock (damn near), I don't track any of my cars...I have a very clear understanding of understeer/plowing as well as oversteer (I have a 911 Carerra S, GT3 Spec), so I'm not too worried about any loss of performance. This is my daily driver... it's fun, fast enough and I think the likelihood of me seeing another is "slim to none".

...and yes, "trichards" S6 was one of the pioneers of the RS6 external conversion, nicely done, but he did not do the rear bumper. Same goes for BDog4.2 (the white sedan).

Seeing your pictures really makes me want my car back RIGHT NOW!!! Still in the paint shop today having the same RS6 sides done (sides only, no bumpers).

With the new rear bumper maybe you might want to get larger exhaust tips to fill in new larger openings.
