Default I wonder if you can rip out the current radio and replace it with the new one...

that would be sweet and I'm gonna do it if I can.

OnStar??? Bleechhh!
Brake Assist? who cares?
2 fog lights? what fun is that...no need for GADGT's mod then
Body side moulding??? Huh?
Aluminum rings everywhere??? Bleechhh!
Visible exhaust??? Kinda cool looking, but deletes some of the inherent stealthiness of this bad-boy
CVT??? Not a chance would I be the guinea pig on that one!
Inside trunk handle??? What good is that, every body I stick back there is dead...or if alive...I don't want them to be able to get out!

4 worthwhile improvements:

1. In-dash CD
2. Better front end for 2.7T and 2.8 err 3.0
3. 3.0 instead of 2.8
4. Tip controls on steering wheel
(in no particular order)

Gee fin, overly optomistic today huh? Hey at least it's an evolution of many little things.

Default Thanks for the information. I wan't to place my $50 bet right now that there will be a post in late

2001 or early 2002 about disconnecting the second(passenger side) fog light. I'll place another $50 bet someone gets hassled by a small town police department hell bent on making a quota and declaring the two rear fogs illegal (via roadside legislation).

The changes are a cumulative improvement in a number of areas (apparently). If no effort was made to fine tune before movng toward a more detailed cosmetic makeover I would be much more pessimistic.

Default No S6 sedan in the US?

I guess that makes my Nemo 4.2 the top sedan! ;^)

Default Looking forward to 2002 parts for my 2001...

* S6 grilles
* S6 wheels would be nice, but I like the sport 5-spokes pretty well (and I have 5 of them).
* A6 wood trim around ESP switch
* A6 rear valence (and change the exhaust tips), * steering wheel with tip buttons (if retrofittable via connections to the Tip).

Too bad I probably can't swap out all the new lighter weight parts in the suspension... at least not without prohibitive expense!

Default Very optimistic...Seriously, though, I wouldn't want several of those "improvements"...

but that is just me. Some or all of those might just be what someone else has been waiting for.

But chrome rings, OnStar, brake assist, 2 fog lights, visible exhaust are hardly noteworthy as improvements. They're fine for those who like 'em...but you're right...it is slightly evolutionary (significantly in the case of the base model), but an evolution that is not always better.

If I were buying a 2.7 or 2.8/3.0 soon, I'd wait for the '02, if I were buying a 4.2 soon, I'd probably take the better deals available now than put up with staring at chrome rings for the next 5 years
