Default Climate Control Not Working on A6

Hi. Excellent website you have here. I was hoping someone could help me with a problem with the dual climate control system on my 99 A6 1.8T, the car has just come to 107k miles with no problems from new, however the last two days the climate control has not been blowing any hot or cold air from the vents, I have changed temperature from lo to hi and blower speed to maximum but still no air comes through the vents. Anyone experienced this problem or something similar? Hoping I could find out without having to go to the dealer and empty my wallet! I'm based In Leamington Spa England, anyone locally with a VAG COM?? Thanks for your help.
Regards

Default welcome to the site, looks like you've done some research already. A thought- have you checked

your fuses to see if the fuse for the HVAC blower is blown?

Default Good call. If the fuse is good, drop the glove box to access the motor...

Use a test light to see if you have power and ground. If so, replace the motor. The one on my wife's 99 died by degrees - it would work for a while, quit, then work again.

Thanks for your help Grapeking and 4Driver4, much appreciated. Although not technically minded I will give it a go and let you know how I got on.

Default Changed fuse

Changed the Fuse for Blower/Air conditioner (No.25, 30 A) Still no luck, could anyone point me in the right direction on how to replace the motor? As well its location? Would there be any difference in that my A6 is right hand drive in relation to where to find the motor, my fuse box was located on the right hand side. Thank you again.

Default Had the same problem on a 1987. At that time Audi used something

called a "multi-function" sensor. Easy to R and R (at that time), and relatively inexpensive. Did the trick. Unknown if same in 1999.

Thanks for your info, have located a blower motor for ?55 ($130ish) from a A6 1.9TDI will try this! I think its likely to be the blower motor as it occasional has started to stop start.
Thanks
