LED Tail Lights - Comparison Pictures
Hello all,
I just installed my LED tail lights and took some comparison pictures in the process.
Unlit:

I found the fit to be okay. As one might expect, it's not quite as good as stock; I was able to get them to sit pretty flush but if you look very closely, you can see the weather stripping is compressed more in some parts of the mating surface than in others. I believe it is water tight though (and would welcome any suggestions on how to test this).
In terms of function, I have no concerns about the brightness of the brake lights, as in my eyes, it is at least as good as the stock bulb. I personally like having the brake signal higher up and occupying a larger portion of the lens when compared to stock.
While I'm replacing LEDs in the third brake light, does anyone have suggestions on finding bulbs that might match the color of the new tails?
Thanks in advance,
Windmill

Glad you like them! As far as testing for water seal...
just run a hose along the seals, and open up the cubby where you affixed the 4 nuts to see if there is any evidence of leakage.

Thanks, did that and though there was no evidence of leakage
the area down there is lined by a black foam structure that appears to be difficult to remove without damaging it. It was not wet, but it made it difficult to detect say, a small seeping trickle if one is there.
Thanks again,

Maybe after the next hard rain, check them again...
just to be sure that the foam seal has not compressed too much or any gap develops over time. Moisture + electrical stuff = bad...mmmkay?

I hate LED's. For those of us with light sensitive eyes, bright LED's, especially at night are
much too distracting, painful, and ruin night vision. They give me a headache and I want to take a baseball bat to every one I see.
I hate them almost as much as the Dame Edna headlights on everything these days. Whomever decided that headlights should be an integral part of the horizontal surface of a body panel should be dragged through broken glass.
