I have hated my pre 2002 wiper design because, well... it just sucked! While trolling around the ECS tuning web site I found that the wiper design changed in 2002. So I said what the hell...Well I got them changed on Sat and it rained on Sun (today). What a difference. For 103.00 including shipping, it was well worth it!

Common wiper problem any car. from an old salt.
Unless you live someplace like Seattle, blades sit there 90% of the time laying on one side. Remember, I'm figuring 24 hrs a day, not just driving time.
Let's say someone cut a few inches off one leg. Chances are you'd lean to one side. That's exactly what happens to the wipers. They lay at an angle to the glass. When they skip, it's because the blade is trying to chop the glass at an angle.
I remember reading in some Audi publication, they even have a special tool to check for wiper angle and one to adjust it. (I'll bet they even have special toilet paper in their corporate bathrooms)
Anyhow, the tool let's you measure the angle of the blade against the glass and another to bend the arms to get the right ange. It should be very close to 90 degrees, so the blade flops back and forth.
I have a tool for the same purpose. In fact, I have two and they are my eyeballs. I also have a special tool. It's called a plyers.
I'm not knocking a pricey change for a different look, but at $100 bucks, that's pretty pricey to cure a simple problem. Oh, I really like the Bosch Icon blades for all year use. They are more than standard, but nowhere near what you paid

wait till winter.....
the center metal portions really get cold and cause ice to build up. you'll be driving around with streaks of ice on the centers of each wiper.
02+ really suck in cold weather.
works fine in non-freezing environments

I guess I'll see if it made a difference or not with time, but 100.00 is a small cost to..
pay for an annoying *** problem that drove me nuts. Especially when I think of the expense of maintenance and some of my mods.

There was actually 4 parts 2 for each wiper, and I only had 2 of the #s...
ECS dosen't put the Audi part# on the invoice.
