Loose Seat...Anyone ever run into this?
I searched for loose seat but didn't come up with anything except replace under warranty which I don't have.
I really only notice it when I accelerate. The whole seat seems to rock back a little. Not slide back mind you, but rock a little. Anyone know what bolt and where it is that may be the culprit?
Thanks!

Mine was replace under warranty and the invoice stated worned frame.
They sublet it to a upholstery place and replace the entire subframe on the passenger seat. If you need to repair it, you may want to go directly to a repair shop good luck.

Re: Loose Seat...Anyone ever run into this?
It's a common issue with the sport seats in a6 2.7t and S4 do to the type of driving, but I've even had the issue on an Allroad. Here are the two most likely issues.
1. Your seat frame is cracked - covered by warranty. If out of warranty it's going to cost you a cool $1,000 to replace the seat. No joke.
2. The seat guide is worn and needs replaced -covered by warranty. If out of warranty it's going to cost you a mere $6.89 from ESC tuning. Removing the seat - easy..two bolts and an eletrical connect, but getting seat out and back in on the rails that is another story. Have someone help you, seriously.

If it's a CPO keep bringing it back to the dealer.....
until they replace the whole frame. It will solve the problem short term but there are posts on this website of people taking their cars back three times for new frames!!! Eventually it wear to the point of rocking. My 00 4.2 does exactly the same thing. I paid an independent 160 bucks to tell me there is nothing they can do. I know someone went to the dealer with an out of warranty vehcile and paid 85 bucks to be told a new frame is 700 dollars. I have given up and adjust my seat to minimize the rocking motion. I love my 4.2 but hat the seats. I wonder if other luxury brands have to deal with this??? OR are we just 'special'
Good Luck

broken seat frame
big bucks to replace. needs new seat frame.
If you are handy with a welder take the seat out, remove the seat cover, wiring, switches,etc...
..and good luck.
