Truewit's Tech writeup covered it pretty well, but I'll add two points of advice:
1. Place the new gaskets in place before lowering the manifold back down, but don't worry about lining up the gasket with the holes yet, just be gentle not to bend (crease) the gasket. 2. Watch the harnesses at the back right corner of the manifold. I had 15 out of 16 bolts started in the manifold and realized the last one wouldn't start because a small harness was right under the manifold bolt hole; keep an eye on those harnesses! Other than that, it took a little under 2 hours and a total of 5 hose clamps and about a liter of coolant (turned into 2 liters after mixing in the water). Times like this I'm glad one of my best friends ownes a shop! :) Now for a few pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ...yea, it had been leaking for awhile!! :/ But all is well now! :D --- Sig --- TonyB - Annapolis, MD '00 A6 2.7t 6mt 'Bridgette' '90 Coupe quattro 20v - 'Klaus' Fixing Leaky Valve Covers/Cam Tensioners Replacing A Leaky Auxiliary Coolant Pump Prosport Boost Gauge Install ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
