Any DIY tips for MY01 rear bumper skin removal?
Minor rear-ender, wanna pull the bumper cover and see if impact absorbers took a hit before I decide whether to get it fixed or not.
TIA

open trunk
open both side compartments
remove 3 10mm nuts from each side (located at the horizontal line where the bumper cover joins the body)
remove 2 10mm nuts next to each taillight, deep in the crack between the taillight and the trunk sill
remove 2 hex bolts from each wheel well, where the lower part of the bumper attaches to the wheel well liner.
remove any hex bolts from underneath the cover (number varies depending on Parktronic, cut-outs, etc).
DONE!

Thank you sir!
Didn't actually pull the skin, since after removing the broken plastic trim underneath I could see well enough to convince myself the honeycomb and bumper were Ok, and the energy absobers showed no obvious sign of impact. I think I'm gonna order the trim and pull the skin once (hopefully!) to replace it.
Without your post I'd *STILL* be looking for those bolts as AESIS has a horrible description of where they are. I'll do a full pictorial when I pull the skin.
Thanks again!
