My tiptronic stopped working on my Avant
I was getting a pretty hard click getting it into tip and now it stopped working. Is there a switch under the shifter that engages the tip? I don't really use it on my Avant but still it bugs me. The lower gears work by manually putting the car in those gears.

Most often the little magnets that tell the tranny where the shifter has been moved to.
Sometimes the alignment is off, and other times a magnet falls off, and least often, the electronics of the position sensor fail.

Just to let you know I had the same problem and it wasn't the magnets...turned out to be............
the circuit board.....
but I tried the magnet fix first...8^)
