Default CONDENSATION IN MY HEADLAMP!!!

So the saga of my 2000 A6 2.7T coupled with my Obessive Compulsive Disorder continues. I noticed last night after I got out of my car that the right headlamp has condensation in it and the left one does not. I replaced both of the Xenon bulbs a week ago so this really bugs me.

A. How do I fix condensation in the headlamp
B. Will the condensation hurt anything
C. How do I prevent this in the future?

Thanks for all your help!

Default If there is moisture in your headlamp...

something did not seal properly when you replaced the bulb, or maybe something else and you never noticed. Not sure how much damage moisture will cause, but I think that they are designed to be sealed for a reason.

Default Loose the caps lock, (its not that big of a deal.)

It will dry out.

Id sell the car now if you are obsessive/compulsive.

This is the least of your worries.

Default Try leaving your headlights on for @ least 10 minutes -- should burn off

That's what the dealer told me to do when the same thing happened. For me, it turned out to be a bad seal in the lamp itself, but since you just changed bulbs I'm betting on a loose fitting after you installed the new ones.

Default I have the same problem. There is a TSB that tells dealers not to replace for this, although

they should not fog up as much as mine is currently. I'm planning on taking it out and checking / sealing it.

FYI HIDS will not generate enough heat typically to burn the moisture out, but they are vented and they will dry out eventually.

Default Xenons are not warm enough to help, maybe the highbeams?

but then everyone will think that you are a jerk driving around with your highbeams on. Hopefully, you will find the source of the bad seal.

They have been on for an entire 2 hour trip last night when I noticed the condensation. Do you mean leave them on without the seal or something?

Default Re: CONDENSATION IN MY HEADLAMP!!!

Ill try the high beams when I drive home and/or wait for it to go away since they are vented. Also my xenons are still very yellow and not comparable in color to the ones I took out and its really bugging me!
