Default Can I use standard chains on my A6 4.2?

I was curious if I can use standard chains on my A6 4.2 with 255/40 17 tires? I am going up to the snow this weekend and would love to know what my options are. Thanks!

Default

Use ABS friendly cables with the S.A.E. Class S rating for clearance.

Default Exactly! If you only have one pair, put them on the front. Spikes Spiders

are much easier, if not ultimately as effective.

klik

Default I saw this on the news the other night

it gave me chills (no pun). Apparently, it's not uncommon for the tire & wheel to spin inside the chains. Bye bye alloys!!!!
