New Nav+ question
Spring time will be here any day now :-)
So, has anyone figured out an electronic hack to make the new wide-screen Nav+ units compatible in my '01 A6?
Is this even possible?

This was just discussed in detail again last week.....the answer I got was almost certainly not without a custom CAN bus interface.
The old C5's use voltage signals to turn stuff on and off, 12VDC/0VDC.
The new Nav systems use CAN bus to tell it everything.....built in on a C6, but not a C5....so unless you are an electrical genuis, you're out of luck.

From what have read / seen this will be impossible without some custom interface manufacturing
And that would be prohibitively expensive. Figure $2K for the Nav unit itself, $300 for the DVD, and about $1000 for the install. I know someone who can build the CAN interfact box but if you are going to spend that much, get a decent aftermarket NAV. Cost half that much easily.
