when i decided to add a little thump in the trunk, smoke pouring out of the trunk is not what i had in mind. i've blown 2 amps now because the line-level (preamp) outs from the concert head unit will swing form the normal 1 volt to negative 4 volts just after shutting down (supposed to be from 0-2 volts input to amp, so NEGATIVE 4 is a BAD thing). i guess other people haven't seen this problem before because they run the remote line from the stereo rather than from the ignition as i did. i have a 120v inverter in the trunk already and i figured i'd just split of that rather than run another line.

BE SURE TO GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON YOUR AMP IF YOU RUN OFF OF THE CONCERT PREAMP OUTPUTS!!!!!

on the bright side i was able to exchange the blown amps... but i still hate my concert head unit. tomorrow i'll have to rip apart one side and run the remote line form the stereo and try this one more time (if it blows again i'm going postal!)

Why do you have a 120v inverter, and what does that have to do with your amp setup?
