Default Loud noise source identified, any ideas on how to fix this?

So last night I heard a large drum like noise from the rear wheel. I heard it when moving in low speed or if I kicked the tires even gently with the car parked.

So I removed the wheel this morning and what I found is that the large plate that sits behind the disk is the culprit. When I hit it with my finger it oscillates and hits some other part producing a large metal drum like noise. It dampens out over a few seconds but it is annoying.

Any ideas on how I can best secure this part so as to eliminate the noise? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance.

Try to bend it out of the way so it has more clearance and it does not hit anything else.

Ditto. I invariably bend one in toward the rotor whenever I do brake/suspension work

Default Bend by hand. Its the brake shield. I've had to do it twice since the H&R's.

Seems like you would know about this one allready rdynamix.

Bent it inward a little, mounted the wheel and voila! The noise is gone. Thanks for the help!

Does it sound like something loose when you hit a bump or ride on bumpy roads at low speeds??? I noticed that the sound goes away when I ride the break a little. Could it be that the compression from the breaks are keeping it sturdy?? I'll appreciate any help so I don't have to go to the dealer.
