Loud noise source identified, any ideas on how to fix this?

So last night I heard a large drum like noise from the rear wheel. I heard it when moving in low speed or if I kicked the tires even gently with the car parked.
So I removed the wheel this morning and what I found is that the large plate that sits behind the disk is the culprit. When I hit it with my finger it oscillates and hits some other part producing a large metal drum like noise. It dampens out over a few seconds but it is annoying.
Any ideas on how I can best secure this part so as to eliminate the noise? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance.

Re: Ditto. I invariably bend one in toward the rotor whenever I do brake/suspension work
Does it sound like something loose when you hit a bump or ride on bumpy roads at low speeds??? I noticed that the sound goes away when I ride the break a little. Could it be that the compression from the breaks are keeping it sturdy?? I'll appreciate any help so I don't have to go to the dealer.
