Audi nav discs / map detail / decode
Apparently Audi is cheap when it comes to their NAV discs. I read an article about Navtech which said automakers choose to pay for how much map detail they get on their disc. That would explain why the Japanese CD and DVD which is also supplied by Navtech, has more street names on them than Audi. Now my second question is.. has anyone been able to decode this CD to make ALL the street names accessible? I recently have noticed that when I enter a city name, it will not have the street name I am looking for, yet when I turn down a wrong street in that city, LOW AND BEHOLD, sometimes the damn thing will know what street I am on and display it, yet I was unable to access it in the listing for that city! What gives?! It's hiding street names?

some thoughts....
In most cases...you can have multiple city/town listings on one map disk.
For instance (in the Boston area):
1) Marlboro
2) Marlborough
3) Town of Marlboro
etc...etc...
I usually pick #3 in all instances.
I've been using my Nav+ for 4 months now...and I've been able to decipher most of these little "quirks".
Hope this helps.

PS: Are you using a C-Navi or D-Navi mapset? I assume that this is for an A6 with the US-based nav setup. Feel free to shoot me an email to chat offline.

Yeah, it's issues with how they index their information
The data is there, but you can only index it so many ways. I guarantee you that if you knew and could enter the exact GPS coordinates of your destination, the system could find/name the street.
So look for alternate names of the town and stuff like that.

It's the C-Navi disc
I've tried all variations of city names, but some street names just don't show up. Then you take a wrong turn in that city and it somehow knows the street name that wasn't there before. I'm just going to buy a Pioneer DVD nav system instead of wait for Audi to pay Navtech to upgrade their CD.
