Still waffling between Toyo T1S (lighter, cheaper) vs S-03 (which I'm using now)....

goodyear F1 GS D3's.
I thought the ride of the S03 was stiff. Havent tried the goodyears, but they are getting good reviews from audi people.
Or go with TOyo RA1's : ))))
THe t1-s is getting good reviews too. May be louder but dont know if louder than the Goodyears.
I loved the rossos for the street. Great riding tire. THey do trammel some, but were nicer than the s03's . S03's had more performance at the edge though.
My next set will be the goodyears to try them out. But I may have to put the RA1's on also : )) man do they stick!<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare2.jsp?shipquote=N&compare=true&part Number=&make=&model=&clarifier=&pr ice=&width=255%2F&ratio=40&diameter=17 &sortCode=&speedRating=&qty=&stock Mes

I was also going from the S-03 to the T1-S, but ...
when the time came, I couldn't find the T1-S in 255/35-20 and ended up with the Michelin PS2. I was going with the T1-S for the same reasons -- comparable handling, lower cost, lighter, and the urge to try something different.
BTW: The Michelin PS2 is a great tire; but it's stiffer than the S-03, weighs exactly the same, and is more expensive.

Joe, you'll love'm. Smoother, quieter, better riding than SO3s
MUCH less tramlining...and less $$$ to boot!
Turn-in maybe a bit less than SO3, but not really noticable. Excellent grip with very progressive yield...very controllable.
But the biggest difference...the ride! The smooth controlled A6 ride is back, even with 18s and coil-overs on less-than-perfect roads!
Cheers,

For the most part....
I've found that at 100+, the difference between the two is larger. The Toyo reaction to input is really delayed at those speeds. If you don't spend much time up there, it doesn't make a difference.

If I'm not too late in responding, go w/ the T1S...
The wifey and I both had S-03s before and they were great tires, especially when it was raining (good traction). But they tramlined + were very pricey + don't have a high treadwear rating. So, as you can see in my sig, we both went w/ different tires. Actually, I also had Pirelli Nero A/S tires for a couple of months, but sold them w/ my Speedline wheels.
If I didn't go w/ the current tires I have now (UHP A/S), I would've gone w/ either the Toyo Proxes 4 (another UHP A/S) or Hankook Ventus Sport K104s (UHP Summer). The Hankooks are inexpensive (in the price range of Nankang and Kumho), but have much better grip/traction.<ul><li><a href="http://www.hankooktireusa.com/products_view.asp?CatID=5">Hankook Ventus Sport K104</a></li></ul>

Even at the big track at Willow Springs, the lap times are within a whisker
and the feedback from the Toyos are more reassuring than perhaps a hint more ultimate grip of the S-03.

Of course, we're driving 2-ton sedans with one-ton drivers. ;^)
You're all of, what, 90 lbs? That's with the helmet? ;^)
Actually, my greatest concern is braking distance. Ultimate grip but in a straight line for the most part. I must say, I don't mind the ride and tramlining too much because I think a heavy car calls for a heavy tire.

i've been using the ts-1 since march....
and like them.
you didn't comment on noise with the s03 but most notice and mention noise with them.
the toyos are well made, with plenty of grip and response. reports suggest they are longer wearing than the s03, but who really knows.
yes they are lighter but in my size they have a higher load rating, so they should be fine on these pigboats.
price wasn't an issue for me but anytime we can save a little on rubber it sure leaves more for petrol....
cheers
