Default Control arms; Fun and Easy!

Did the CA kit and outer toe rods last weekend. The car is so much tighter now.

Feels like she has 8k instead of 108k!

Not a job for the weak at heart, though. The pinch bolt holding in the uppers needed a torch and a lot of muscle to get out.

All in all, very worthwhile and the costs were kept all around $600.<ul><li><a href="http://www.speakeasy.org/~trader1/Pics/Control%20Arm%20job/">All the fun</a></li></ul>

Default You are a man among men!

See now, I don't own a torch. I would've been stopped right at that point and I would have felt just a touch depressed.

Congratulations on doing that job yourself!

How long did it take it you to do both sides?

Default Nice.

Where do you live? We did a CV joint boot on the A6 about a month ago, and the pinch bolt came right off. Of course, we're in the South, and never deal with salted roads, so I'm wondering if that may be the difference.

Default I used my wife hairdryer and lots of WD40 to loosen that sucker. It's not that hard once all the

bolts are loosenned. My first time took about 10 hours, front and back (including running to the store for additional tools). The second time took about 3.5 hours.

Default Thanks:=)

I worked on it for a total of 7 hours spread over 3 days. I sprained my wrist badly the morning of the 2nd day, so it didn't go as fast as originally planned.

Next are the manual boost controller and the Magnaflow exhaust!

Can't wait, spring is almost here!!
