Firm for sure. You will like the result. Nothing special for the installer-just follow the instructions that come with the bars.

Firm.
Mount the rears with some load on the suspension, put the front one in right-side up, use some of the provided lube...basically just follow the instructions that come with them; should be an easy job.
Search back a week or so, there were some excellent posts on installing them.

On my 2001 4.2 sport, the firm setting is...
... just slightly a bit too firm. In other words, it handles level enough, but some of the oscillation (very small) from this stiffer force is a bit underdamped. On soft, I'm not sure how much difference there will be. I'm leaving it on firm, because I'm already used to it and don't notice the tiny bit of roughness and oscillation. Very small.
You can always go back to soft later, even doing it yourself, I would imagine.
However, from your pic, your car seems to have stock non-sport suspension. The lesser damping and spring rates may make the oscillation a bit more noticeable.
No one here has admitted going with soft, but the installer says that most customers there do. Of course, most customers don't have the heavy 4.2. Let us know what you think.

Even easier to let DynoSpot do it.... ; )
Speaking of, what's your "clunk" status, Larry? This has me worried...was all fired up and ready to go with the install, but issues such as yours (however minor) now have me waivering a bit.

Still haven't looked at it. Working a lot (in spite of how it might appear with my time here) and
working a lot on the house right now too...I have to move some things in the micro-garage to their final resting points to make room for the procedure/s. On top of that, I've been pretty sick for about 5 days now. Wonerful.
I want to be able to remove/reinstall the rear bar with load on the suspension, and to take the wheels off too (for a good cleaning, if nothing else!). I'm pretty convinced that it's something unrelated to the bars.
I hope to be able to take care of the trouble-shooting this Sunday...the in-laws arrived Tuesday for a bit more than two weeks, the bro-in-law arrives Friday for the same, and I figure by Sunday some "alone-time" in the garage with the car will be just the medicine I'll need.

I had them installed on the soft setting and then changed to the firm.
The firm is much improved over the soft, albeit with a stock suspension that has different settings than the 4.2/2.7.
