Vibrations gone :)
So, this is day two after I picked up my 02 S6 from the dealer. They gave up on the OEM Conti Sport Contacts and ran with my BBS VZ 17x8 and 255/40-17 Pilot Sport AS tires. The front were both at 7lbs and the rears are at 14 & 15lbs after a new road force balance. They did two full alignments and made sure to adjust the toe in to the max as per the AOA rep.
The vibration is now gone in the steering wheel between 45 and 55mph....I am very happy!!!!
The AOA rep stated that the road force should be 10lbs or under, which can be very difficult to do with the quality of the current tires out there. I do hope that this will stick this time....and if so....time for some mods!!!!!
I made the mistake of looking at a RS6 at the local dealer.....yummy. I love the exhaust note, it is perfect (this was not the enhanced exhaust either!)
What would you folks recommend to duplicate the sound of the RS6?

no. turbos are mufflers too. If you install the RS6 exhaust it will be louder, possibly
much louder and there may be other resonance issues. Maybe not, but I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig.
That RS6 does sound incredible. Best sound I've heard this side of a Ferrarri. Better than AMG, and everyone else.
I really really wish they made an RS6 avant. A station wagon with that sound would be really fun around here.

YESSS!!! Congratulations Robert. As you know, I appreciate
what you've been going through. I, too, have postponed mods pending outcome of vibration issues. Hopefully, this fix will stick.
Let me know if you install an RS6 exhaust. I'd be interested to hear about it -- the S6 is way too quiet.
