Default Heater blower fan

The heater blower fan in my dash (98 A6 2.8Q) starts chirping when I make right hand turns. Anyone have a fix for that? Any way to lubricate?

Default Re: Heater blower fan

I had the exact same problem in my 2001 2.7T. Just got it back from the dealer who replaced the cabin fan motor. They said this is a common thing to go.

No more chirping now.

Default That's so funny. Mine does the same thing!

Only seems to do it in the cold weather, though.

I'll try and take it apart someday.

Just replace it...it's pretty easy to do.

Default My '02 did the same thing when I would step on the brakes

or when the front suspension compressed going over a bump. Dealer finally replaced the AC blower motor. They never heard it though. Would happen only at 3 or 4 setting and would stop when speed changed, then happened at all speeds. Remained sporatic until replacement which cured it.

Default Well......

This is close enough.....

<A href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/292398.phtml">Evap Drain</A>

Just need to follow steps 1 and 2. Part of the blower motor can be seen in the sixth picture (upper right corner....this pic....

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/1889/drainduct.jpg">

Just disconnect the blower connector and remove all the bolts holding the blower in. It'll take one about 30 minutes.
