QCRAZY - Thanks for the info on the ignition switch
After you set me straight on what was broke, went out and got one, and replaced it. Sooo easy, about 40 minutes from start to finish.
Mine was broken just like your picture:

I wrote up the procedure, I'm sure it's almost exact for an A6.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/electrical_equipment/ignswitchreplace.html">Ignition Switch Replacement Procedure</a></li></ul>
