new V1 remote display install.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/5500/v1_remote_display.jpg">
This will be updated with a 'dummy' button (I ground a peice of plastic leftover from the V1 box to use as temporary filler.
The only minor grumble I have is the V1 remote display is convex from left to right, and the location is flat.
I am VERY happy with the location of the mute button, however. It is easier to reach than the radio (unless you have wheel buttons). I've also seen that part mouned on the backside of one of the spokes but that was more work than I wanted to undertake given I also installed PSK bar, exposed tips, amp and sub and phone kit at more or less the same time.
I placed it to the right as it allows better sight of the arrows regardless of hand position on the wheel.
It will look better once the dummy button I orderd is in place.

ok, about 40 views and no response.
sounds like 'it looks like hell, who's gonna break it to him'.
Like I said, it will get cleaned up once the actual dummy switch arrives, at which point it will get nicely re-epoxied...

I was thinking the same thing. I'm pretty impressed...
Just wondering step by step how you did it? I have a V1 w/ concealed unit and didn't know where to put it. I may try it if you can post some details.

Looks good but if you need some follow up posts...
maybe you should find the guy on the A4 page who crafted an actual Windows XT facade in his A4, complete with an X-Box. Quite somthing.

It's actually perfect. The visor can come down to verticle, and I use it
to block the vew of the detector from behind during the day when in the vicinity of police.
Since it's behind the driver's visor it just looks like the driver has pulled down his visor to block some light, look in the mirror, whatever, and the detector is now concealed from view, and of course with the remote display mute button you don't have to reach for the detector to quickly mute it, which is nice when on the phone and you forget to turn down the detector volume.
If the cop were to see you pull down the passenger visor, that would seem odd at best.
Unfortunately I can't find my clip mount, so I'm using the suction cup mount for now, which isn't as discrete from the front. That's one thing I plan to change.
