What a difference a poly mount makes.
Hi,
I had a polyurethane upper engine mount installed to replace a totalled one on my 1998 V70 GLT with 50,000 miles.
This alone has totally transformed the feel of the car.

No more driveline slop, no more vibrations. It is wierd but the engine noise is deeper now (sounds like a cold-air intake has been installed).
Next thing on my list... acquire stiffer RS4 engine mounts for my A6. The driveline slop has got to go.
/dan

Yeah, but there are stiffer RS4 hydro-mounts available too...
... as I recall Taner(?) and a couple of others found totally torn/ripped apart lower motor mounts on their S4's. If I was going to get the snubby I'd do all the mounts.

You should feel my driveline slop (Tip) in 4th gear going up an 8% grade at 3,000 to 4,000 RPM! The whole car pulsates/resonates as the torque is laid down :-).
But first, as part of my vibration exorcism, I'm going to have an indy shop do a complete inspection. I'm certain things are still screwed up from my engine replacement. I'm still finding things wrong 15K miles later.
- bent drive shaft.
- underfilled AC system.
- no alignment (needed 2 new tires).
- missing bolts.
