Eibach problems on the 4.2...
Back in april I had the eibach pro kit installed on my 2000 4.2 non sport, and it did not lower my car at all. I have called David Royce at eibach at least twice a month since then and they still do not have an answer for me. The one thing that I can say for certain is that they can not guarantee how much this kit will lower the car. They claim that the kit will lower your car 1.3 inches, but they are basing this on european specs. They have since had one sport that they have installed the kit on in house, but no non sports. All I can say is be careful, because the kit did NOT work on my car and it was a big waste of money.

You should check the installation - it may been incorrectly performed,
as in V8 Gecko's case. I didn't measure my ride height before the Eibach's were installed, but it was definitely lower afterward. I had non-sport suspension to begin with. The sport suspension is 25 mm lower than nonsport and the Eibach system is supposed to lower the car 30 mm from non sport, so the 5 mm difference between sport and Eibach may be hard to discern by eye if you started with a factory soprt suspension.

The springs were installed by Euro Car Service, which was another nigthmare, but...
I had everything checked out by Audi. They corrected some problems with the install, but nothing lowered the car any more.

Re: Eibach problems on the 2.7T
I installed the Audi/prokit springs with bilstein sports (highest perch) on my 2000 2.7t. I initially liked the setup, but now I think it is too low. The front is sitting 24.5 inches from fender to the ground. This is almost a 3 in drop I think. I don't know what to do now. Anyway, be careful with these springs. They seem unpredictable.

I just had the Eibach springs (400 psi) installed on my 4.2 and they lowered the car 1/2" with...
new Bilstein sport shocks when installed. Will bring the car in to the shop Friday for adjustment to stiff setting on newly installed H-Sport anti-sway bars and check the height of the car again. It has probably settled a bit due to the Bilsteins settling. I was initially a bit disappointed that the car was not the 1.2" lower as advertised by Eibach, but the handling and ride with the new suspension bits is far better, so I am OK with the modifications. I am not so sure that a much lower car is a good thing, at least in New England where the roads have enough potholes and bumps to cause problems. For the same reason will stay with 17" wheels. Need to go to the stiffer setting on the rear bar which I expect will reduce understeer.

Eibach specifies ride height as measured from the center of the wheel to the fender lip..
best calculated by carefully measuring the distance from the lower edge of the rim across the wheel center to the fender lip and subtracting one half the diameter of the wheel from rim to rim. If I can remember correctly mine was about 37cm give or take 2mm front and rear, which was within Eibach specs.
