Kissin' cousins! (with my daughter Gabrielle thrown in for scale! ;-) )

Well, thanks to the generosity and consideration of a VERY courteous RS 6 owner, I was able to answer that question over the weekend!
In a word, it was a THRILL!
I met Mr. Owner at MotoPersona in Lombard, IL on Saturday - a gorgeous day for a test-drive, I might add. Spent perhaps 1/2 hour tooling around on both surface streets and on the highway, and found out that the RS 6 is JUST like I thought it would be - it's the ultimate expression of Audi-ism. It's subtle-looking, but purposeful, with a hunkered-down stance and attitude from the gorgeous flares and wheels.
The drive is sublime - the handling is as good as it gets for this body style - it changes direction rightnow, and is utterly stable and predictable in corners. The ride is comfortable considering the performance potential, and the seats are a nice meld of holding power and comfort.
The engine? What else can be said that hasn't already been said? It's a monster. Torque everywhere, building to a beautiful crescendo of power and sound, especially with this car's "sound-enhancing" exaust. My car feels woefully inadequate, by comparison - as you'd expect with 44% less power.
Interesting thing, though, about hyper-powerful cars: They engender respect and restraint in driving habits, precisely because they can attain "ludicrous speed" so quickly. 60-100 is a blink in this car, as is any other burst of acceleration you'd care to experience on the street, so those heady blasts of full-throttle are tantalizingly short, and only serve to whet your appetite for more. Unfortunately, experiencing that "more" would require a racetrack, in most cases. So, the power is a double-edged sword.
In the end, I'd still buy one in a hearbeat if I could, and all of you who already own this amazing vehicle are very fortunate, indeed.
To the rest of us, well, keep dreaming, and saving your pennies. Who knows? Maybe in a few years you'll run across another enthusiast who's ready to move on to the next car of the moment, and you'll (I'll!) be able to experience the thrill on an everyday basis in a lightly-used RS 6!
Thanks again, Mr. Owner - you're a scholar and a gentleman.
Oh, and one more thing: The car is worth every penny of its asking price - it's TOO cool!!!

I've only had the chance to *sit* in one at the dealer..sigh
the seats are amazingly comfortable, no amount of begging would convince the salesman for a test drive. Oh well at least I also have 2 turbos...

I, too despaired of ever getting to drive one - I'm still stunned by this owner's generosity!...
...but it just proves that Audi enthusiasts are a breed apart.
